Welcome to my Digital Marketing with the Seasons series here on my Journal of Soulful Reflections. Throughout this series I’ll provide you with seasonal inspiration, tips, ideas and actionable steps that you can implement into your own digital marketing.
Just in case you missed last month’s post, you can read it here.
At the time of writing this, November feels pretty grey and damp right now. With that and the nights drawing in much quicker, and nature outside looking quite bare, I can’t help but crave more light, warmth and colour each day. Perhaps you feel the same too?
As we embrace the current ebb and flow of the season, adding some light and warmth and energy to our online presence not only brightens our brand but also helps to connect with those looking for a bit of brightness during these shorter, colder days.
I thought I'd share a few ideas for how you can bring more warmth to your platforms to nurture your online community, and for your digital marketing to be a beacon of light to others.
Nurture through social media - Bringing community, togetherness, and support in your content and its messaging is always a really lovely way to bring warmth and light to your online spaces. It’s also particularly important for letting your followers know that you’re there for them. I know it’s something that a lot of people say, but engaging with your online community is one of the most valuable things that you can do. Think about the ways in which you can engage with your audience through your platforms and in your content. You could create a feel-good poll, ask a question, invite others to share their favourite things about the current season, or what they’re looking forward to, and also encourage them to share some of their recent small joys and wins. Don’t forget to engage with others in their content too!
Send a digital care package - This can be a lovely and fun little way to brighten up someones inbox, especially during the darker and colder months. Why not create your very own digital care package to send out to your subscribers. You could include a relaxing playlist, some cosy book recommendations, some journal prompts, or your favourite seasonal recipes that they can try. Plus, if you’re a small business owner, think about how you can incorporate what you do into your digital care package. Perhaps you could offer some free printables, or downloads.
Add a personal touch - One of my favourite types of content from the people I follow is reading about what they've been up to. It might seem simple, but sharing relatable content with a personal touch can really help you connect with your audience. Why not share a few of the things that you love that keep you warm and cosy during this season and the next. Perhaps you could share some of your favourite products that you love to use, especially during these darker nights. Maybe you could share some of the seasonal foods that you’ve been enjoying to inspire others. You could also invite your online community to share their cosy everyday moments with you too.
