Just in case you missed last month’s post, you can read it here.
I decided to have a wander into town and to write this month’s post in my local library, and as I made my way here I felt very much aware of the cold chill that’s in the air. Fortunately, the sun was shining, and the sky was (mostly) blue, even though a few grey clouds were moving in. Now that October is here, it’s definitely a lot more noticeable now that they evenings are getting darker earlier. To be honest, all I want to do in the evenings now is to get warm and cosy!
Today I wanted to share how your blog can be an incredible help when it comes to digital marketing. I’ve actually just published a post where you can discover 5 reasons why your blog is the perfect digital marketing tool. It’s also the ideal time for people to cosy up in the evenings with a good blog post!
Your blog provides an amazing online space to reach potential new customers, nurture existing ones, and become searchable in the online world. Your blog complements your website and niche, provides bountiful opportunities, boosts traffic, increases brand visibility, helps you to reach your target audience, builds personal connection, and let’s your personality shine through, creating authenticity and trust.
As we enter a more colder and darker season, now is a good time to think about our offerings and what people are looking for as they spend more time indoors. Here’s where you blog can come in handy for exactly this…
Include seasonal topics - Your blog is perfect for showcasing your offerings. Think about how you can include your products and the current season. If you sell candles, you could write a post about ways to get cosy this autumn and feature your products. If you're an artist, consider sharing your favourite autumn-themed paintings. If you offer online services, you could discuss how autumn is a great time to start something new.
Think about what your audience is searching for right now - Yep I’m going to drop the “C” word! Although we are only in October, we are getting closer to Christmas… and yes, people are now searching for gift ideas! I've already seen posts where people are asking for recommendations for small businesses to buy from! Just like we’ve looked at including seasonal topics in your blog posts, think about how you can also incorporate them for the upcoming season, especially for those who are doing their shopping early!
Don’t forget to add a call-to-action at the end of your blog post - This is a great tip for directing readers to another blog post or offering, which in return helps keep them on your site longer. Consider what you want people to do next after reading your post.
