Welcome to my Digital Marketing with the Seasons series here on my Journal of Soulful Reflections. Throughout this series I’ll provide you with seasonal inspiration, tips, ideas and actionable steps that you can implement into your own digital marketing.
September has arrived, bringing a subtle autumn chill to the air, signalling that changes in nature are on the horizon. The evenings are gradually growing shorter, and trees are showing hints of red and brown hues amongst their glorious greens, while the scent of the earth grows richer and more earthy, a sure sign that the year is moving forward.
Now that we’ve entered late summer, take a moment to reflect on the season. What have you observed as we’ve journeyed through these months? Which small joys did you uncover? How has summer made you feel? Reflecting on the current season can help us transition mindfully into the next, allowing us to use our time and energy wisely on what matters most.
Summer has given me the chance to rest, recharge, nurture my well-being, set small goals for my business and personal life, and reflect on how I want to move forward as the year continues.
As we get ready for Autumn, here’s some inspiration and encouragement, plus a few actionable steps to help you prepare your digital marketing for the months ahead.
Celebrate your summer wins - Perhaps you have noticed significant growth on a social media platform? Maybe you’ve reached a goal that you set at the beginning of the year? Or maybe you’ve recently launched a new product and you’ve already had some sales. Whatever your win may be, big or small, make sure to jot it down. When we reflect upon our achievements within our business, it’s a lovely way to create positivity, shift our focus on the small moments of joy, boost our confidence and keep ourselves motivated.
Begin to prepare for the coming months - Just as nature is beginning to prepare itself for the colder months, in order to sustain itself throughout, now is a great time to think about how we can begin preparing within our digital marketing. Reflect upon the content that you already have. What can you repurpose? This means taking your existing content and reusing it. For example, you could turn one blog post into several social media posts and reels. It helps content creation to be less overwhelming, and will help you to begin creating your very own content library, whilst enabling you to make the most of the content that you already have. Begin going through your content today, and you’ll be surprised by how much you can gather from just one post!
Reflect on how the changing season impacts your digital marketing - Just as every season offers a chance to sow, cultivate, care for, gather, and rejuvenate, each season also offers an abundance of opportunities for our small businesses through our digital marketing. For example, during the summer months, particularly during the summer holidays, I notice it’s more of a quieter time for my small business. As late summer arrives, I notice business picking up again. This shift allows me to reflect more mindfully on the current season, how it affects my digital marketing, where my time and energy is best spent, and so I can begin making adjustments where necessary.
