Welcome to my Journal of Soulful Reflections.
In my ‘Moments in Nature’ series, you’ll find a monthly seasonal collection of photos, sharing the beauty of natural world. Join me on my travels, and discover some of my favourite nature-filled places to visit.
Don’t you just love when you find a place that brings you so much joy, and you could literally just spend the whole day there and never want to leave?
For me, one of those places is situated in my hometown. It’s a place that I have loved dearly since I was very young. It’s a haven for both nature and wildlife, and for all who visit.
Fun fact… it was also the first place I took David to when we met in person for the first time!
Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens in Spalding in Lincolnshire, is rich in history. Set in 5.5 acres of gardens, the grade I listed hall provides a wonderful and fascinating look in to the history of Spading (I think my favourite part is the Library), whilst offering a peaceful sanctuary in the beautiful gardens that surround it.
I did also find out that there is a magnificent yew tree that dates back to the 1720’s. How amazing is that, and that nature has been left to set its roots deep down, and to thrive and flourish in its natural environment.
It really is a hidden gem.
Here are a few photos of some of the many flowers that are currently in bloom that fill the gardens.
The roses are wonderfully fragrant, filling the air with a beautiful scent. It’s impossible to not stop and smell them!
“I am sure we should not shut our hearts against the healing influences that nature offers us.”
