While winter's chill still lingers in the air, signs of spring are steadily emerging. From blossoming buds to bursts of vibrant colours and various shades of green, along with the cheerful chirping of birds and the return of beautiful blue skies, the season's arrival is becoming more prominent with each passing day.
Whenever someone asks about life in Lichfield, I always mention how wonderfully green it is! It’s one of my most favourite things about Lichfield. There's an abundance of nature to explore, trails to wander, parks to enjoy, woods to discover, and plenty of countryside to venture into.
Here a few pictures that I took during our walk today. I’d love to know what some of your favourite springtime flowers are?
Although it was quite windy walking along Stowe Pool, it was so lovely to spot the cormorants happily resting on the mini islands out in the middle.
During a previous walk by Minster Pool, closer to the city centre, we were amazed to discover a group of cormorants elegantly perched atop the trees, a truly wonderful sight to behold.
As we made our way to the Cathedral we spotted this sweet cat, which I aptly named Daffodil Cat!
If you’re ever in Lichfield, I highly recommend a walk through Beacon Park. There is over 70 acres of beautiful gardens to explore, and it’s in easy reach of the city centre. Also a picnic is a must!
From a distance we spotted amongst the grass a blanket of deep purple. So on our way back we made sure to head in that direction to inspect further! How beautiful are these crocuses? I think the purple ones are my favourite!
Then it was back home for a hot drink and a few biscuits!
I love tulips, but the more unusual shapes and varieties 🌷
Lovely images of Spring. I do love hellebores, I think they are at the top of my favourites list and we're so fortunate that in the many years we've now been here the few original ones my mum gave me have crossed and seeded around so that we have different shades.
